The Week of September 21st

Snack Week:  Kaleb’s

Memory:  I will be glad and exalt in You. Psalm 9:2

Monday:  We will be celebrating Raine’s birthday today!  Letter K Day:  kaleidoscope, kangaroo, ketchup, kettle, key, kimono, king, kitchen, kite, kitten, kiwi fruit, koala.  We will learn what to do when our clothes catch on fire. 

Tuesday:  Gym.  Computers.  Library.   Letter L Day:  lace, ladder, ladle, ladybug, lamb, lamp, lantern, leaf, leash, lemon, letter, lettuce, lid, lime, lion, lizard, lobster, lock, locket, log. The book “School” will come home. We will practice what to do if we are sleeping and a fire alarm goes off.  We will find two different ways out of our classroom. 

Wednesday:  Computers.  Music.  Happy Birthday Kaleb!  Please return the book “School” and we will read them to the 5^th and 6^th graders. Letter M Day:  macaroni, magazine, magnet, magnifying glass, mailbox, map, maraca, mask, milk carton, mirror, mitten, monkey, monster, moon, mop, motorcycle, mouse, muffin tin, music box.  We will learn about things we shouldn’t touch at home. 

Thursday: Chapel.  Gym.  Spanish.  Art. Letter M Day:  macaroni, magazine, magnet, magnifying glass, mailbox, map, maraca, mask, milk carton, mirror, mitten, monkey, monster, moon, mop, motorcycle, mouse, muffin tin, music box.  Math test today over placement words.  The book “Go Play” will come home.  We will learn about the clothes that protect the firefighters and some of the equipment they use. 

Friday:  Memory.  Spanish.  Art.  Test over letters A-M.  Please return the book “Go Play” and we will read them to the 5^th and 6^th graders.  12:15 Field Trip to Frankenlust Fire Dept. 

Our Senses

Today we learned about our sense of smell. We also learned that if we can not smell we can not taste things very well.

Monday:  Test over upper and lower case letters A-F.  We will be talking about things that we smell.  We will be smelling some good things and not so good things.   

Tuesday:   Gym. Library. Computers. Test over upper and lower case letters A-F.   Letter G Day:  garden, gate, giraffe, glass, globe, glove, glue, goggles, golf ball, goose, gorilla, gourd, grapes, grass.  We will learn about what things we can taste.  We will add them to our book. 

Wednesday:  Computers.  Music.  Math test over shapes. Letter G Day:  garden, gate, giraffe, glass, globe, glove, glue, goggles, golf ball, goose, gorilla, gourd, grapes, grass.  We will read “A Farm” book to Mr. Garcia’s class.  We will taste test salty, sweet, sour, and bitter things.

Thursday: Chapel. Art.  Spanish.  Letter H Day: hammer, handkerchief, handle, hanger, harmonica, hat, hay, heart, helicopter, hen, hippopotamus, holly, honey, hoop, horn, horse, hot dog, house.  Letter I Day: ice cream container, ice cube tray, ice skates, icicle, igloo, iguana, Indian, infant, ink, insects, iris, iron, ironing board, island, ivy.  We will feel different things in guess bags. 

Friday:  Memory. Art.  Spanish. Letter I Day: ice cream container, ice cube tray, ice skates, icicle, igloo, iguana, Indian, infant, ink, insects, iris, iron, ironing board, island, ivy.  We will read “The Lunch” book to Mr. Garcia’s class.  We will have a test over our senses.

Tuesday:   Spanish.  Letter B Day:  ball, balloon, banana, bandage, basket, bat, bear, bad, bell, belt, bib, blanket, block, boat, bone, book, boot, bottle, bow, bowl, bracelet, brush, bucket, butterfly.  We will start our senses book. 

Wednesday:  Gym: we will be playing soccer. Letter C Day:  cake, camera, can, candle, canoe, car, card, carpet square, carrot, chalk, clock, clothespin, clown, coat, comb, cookies, corn, cotton, cowboy hat, crayon, crown. Letter D Day: daisy, dandelion, deer, diaper, dice, dime, dinosaur, dishpan, dog, doll, domino, donkey, door, doughnut, dress, drum, duck, dustpan.  We will add hearing to our books.  We will watch the movie: “Magic Schoolbus Inside the Haunted House.”  It is filled with all sorts of sounds!

Letter D Day: daisy, dandelion, deer, diaper, dice, dime, dinosaur, dishpan, dog, doll, domino, donkey, door, doughnut, dress, drum, duck, dustpan.  Letter E Day: eagle, earmuffs, earphones, earring, easel, egg, egg beater, elastic, elephant, elevator, elf, engine, envelope, eraser.  We will watch the movie: “Magic Schoolbus Inside the Haunted House.”  It is filled with all sorts of sounds!    

Friday:  Memory.  Music with Miss Abraham.  Book orders due today.  Picture Day!  We will read “Apple Pie” book to Mr. Garcia’s class.  Letter E Day: eagle, earmuffs, earphones, earring, easel, egg, egg beater, elastic, elephant, elevator, elf, engine, envelope, eraser. We will add seeing to our book.  We will find things we can only see and then some we can touch and see.

Religion lesson this week

We learned how God formed man out of clay and breathed life into him. We tried... but we weren't as powerful as God is! Thank you for giving us everything we need!
