The Week of January 6th

Friday’s Memory:  Shine as lights in the world, holding fast to the word of life.  Philippians 2:15-16
Monday:  Short O Beginning: octopus, olives, onion, ostrich, otter, oven, owl, ox, October, opera, off.  If it is cold enough, we will make snow with hot water.  We will make snowflakes with noodles. 

Tuesday:   Gym.  Computers.  Library.   Short O Anywhere: cob, pot, monster, doll, brown, otter, olives, dock, top, fox, sock, box, mop, octopus, pod.  We will make a paper plate snowman.

Wednesday:  Memory.  Spanish.  Computers.    Letter R Beginning: rabbit, radio, raft, rag, raincoat, rainbow, raisins, rake, rattle, reindeer, ribbon, ring, robot, rock, rocket, roller skates, rolling pin, rooster, rope, rug, ruler.  We will paint with shaving cream a snowman. 

Thursday: Chapel. Gym.  Art. Letter R Ending: ruler, flower, flour, sugar, river, stirrer, reindeer, deer, water, car, jar, pear, bear, chair, hair. We will make a paper plate snowman.

Friday:  Memory.  Spanish.  Art.   Letter G Beginning: garden, gate, giraffe, glass, globe, glove, glue, goggles, golf ball, goose, gorilla, gourd, grapes, grass.  We will read “Cal can Bat” book. We will make a Kool-Aide Snowman.

Monday:  Drop off your child at church in the morning.  Chapel.  Letter C Beginning:  cake, camera, can, candle, canoe, car, card, carpet square, carrot, chalk, clock, clothespin, clown, coat, comb, cookies, corn, cotton, cowboy hat, crayon, crown.  We will paint Christmas trees using our feet for our scrapbooks. 

Tuesday:   Gym.  Computers. Library. Wrapping your presents today! 

Wednesday:  Memory. Spanish. Christmas Program today at 9:00 and 6:30.  Please have children dress nicely today.  We will make painting ornaments to keep today. 

Thursday: Gym.  Art.  Wear your St. Paul clothes.  We will be caroling in the morning and Christmas movie with suckers in the afternoon.  

Friday:    Wear Christmas Clothes today!  Party today at 9:15.

Monday:  Drop off your child at church in the morning.  Chapel.  Letter C Beginning:  cake, camera, can, candle, canoe, car, card, carpet square, carrot, chalk, clock, clothespin, clown, coat, comb, cookies, corn, cotton, cowboy hat, crayon, crown.  We will paint Christmas trees using our feet for our scrapbooks.

Friday’s Memory:  Out watching their sheep in late hour.

Monday:  Drop off your child at church in the morning.  Chapel, we are doing a play.  AIMS testing.  We will learn about Brazil.  They put mangers in lots of rooms in their homes.   

Tuesday:   Gym.  Computers. Library.  We will learn about Poland’s tradition of Star of David. 

Wednesday:  Memory. Computers.  Spanish.  Letter B Beginning:  ball, balloon, banana, bandage, basket, bat, bear, bad, bell, belt, bib, blanket, block, boat, bone, book, boot, bottle, bow, bowl, bracelet, brush, bucket, butterfly.  Iceland has different Santas.  We will make ornaments today. 

Thursday: Gym.  Art.  Letter B Ending:  cab, tub, bib, club, tab, rib, web, scrub, robe, bulb, crib, cab, cube, tube. We will learn about Germany and Christmas trees.  We will make edible Christmas trees.

Friday:  Drop off your child at church in the morning.  Memory. Spanish.  Art.  Letter C Day:  cake, camera, can, candle, canoe, car, card, carpet square, carrot, chalk, clock, clothespin, clown, coat, comb, cookies, corn, cotton, cowboy hat, crayon, crown.  We will learn about St. Lucia’s Day and make a wreath out of noodles.  Please return the books, “Nan and Lad”.  They will be reading them to me!

The Week of December 2nd

4th Wednesday’s Memory:  Light it to tell of our dear Savior’s birth;

6th Friday’s Memory:  Yes, light it now for everyone!

Monday:   Drop off at church!  Chapel.  Short I Beginning: igloo, iguana, inchworm, Indian, infant, ink, insects.  We will learn about Philippines’s Christmas custom of ringing bells on Christmas day.  We will make an advent bell to count down the days to Christmas.  The advent calendar started in Germany. 

Tuesday:   Gym.  Computers.  Library.  Short I anywhere:  sifter, tin, nickel, pickle, bill, ship, hip, swim, hill, lip, chin, fin, lint, inch, insect, ink.  In Russia, they like angels to put on their trees.  We will make an angel to put on our bulletin board. 

Wednesday:  Memory.  Computers.  Spanish.  We will make short I words.  In Mexico, they have poinsettias to decorate their homes. 

Thursday:   Gym.  Spanish.  Art.  In the Ukraine, they believe spiders in their home on Christmas will bring luck.  We will make a spider and web!

Friday:  Drop off at church!  Memory.  Spanish.  Art.  We will read “A Hat” books.  We will learn that England likes to decorate with balls and holly around their doors.  We will decorate our window with that!

Monday:  Chapel.  We will make turkeys with our hands. 
   
Tuesday:  Gym.  Computers.  Happy Birthday Lennon as I missed him on the calendar!   We will make our Tinsel Tree ornaments and decorate our classroom Christmas tree.

The Week of November 18th

Friday’s Memory:  The light of the world now has come

Monday:  Chapel.  We will make turkey’s today. 

Tuesday:  Gym.  Computers.  Library.   Letter N Beginning:  napkin, necklace, necktie, nest, net, newspaper, nickel, nightgown, noodles, numbers, nutcracker, nuts. We will learn how the Native Americans used to pop popcorn.   We will try and pop popcorn on the cob and then take the kernels off the cob and see which one pops more. 

Wednesday:  Memory.  Spanish.  Computers.  Letter N Ending:  nine, green, hen, wren, dragon, onion, can, fan, man, lion, bean, spoon, train, tin, moon.  We will start a book about turkey.  We will learn the names of a girl, boy, and baby turkey.

Thursday:   Gym.  Art.    Letter L Beginning:  lace, ladder, ladle, ladybug, lamb, lamp, lantern, leaf, leash, lemon, letter, lettuce, lid, lime, lion, lizard, lobster, lock, locket, log.  We will finish the turkey books.  We will learn that turkeys can see very well, eat berries, nuts, and bugs, and sleep in trees.

Friday:  Memory.  Spanish.  Art.  We will read “In the Park” book.  Letter L Ending:  spool, tool, stool, rule, pail, handle, ladle, saddle, small, little, pool, turtle, fall, wall, ball.  We will talk about how corn was important to both the Native Americans and the Pilgrims.  We will make Indian corn.

The Week of November 11th

Friday’s Memory: We see lights on our Christmas tree! 

Monday:  Chapel.  We will be sewing all day!  
  
Tuesday:  Gym.  Computers.  Library.  Letter H beginning:  hammer, handkerchief, handle, hanger, harmonica, hat, hay, heart, helicopter, hen, hippopotamus, holly, honey, hoop, horn, horse, hot dog, house.  We will learn why the Pilgrims came to America and how they traveled to America. 

Wednesday:  Memory.  Computers.  Spanish.  We will see what the Pilgrim village looked like.

Thursday: Chapel. Gym.  Art.  AIMS Testing today.  Letter T Beginning: tablecloth, tambourine, tape, teapot, teddy bear, telephone, television, tennis racket, ticket, tiger, tooth paste, toothbrush, top, tractor, train, tray, tree, triangle, tricycle, truck, t-shirt, turtle. We will talk about the first Thanksgiving.  The first Thanksgiving lasted 3 days.
 
Friday:  Memory.  Spanish.  Art.   Letter T Ending:  bat, cat, hat, parrot, nest, kite, elephant, quilt, hut, pit, pot, pet, target, light, boat, coat, note, net, tent, meat, fruit, beet.  We will read the book “We carry” today.

Dane:  Not quite yet! 
Adelynn:  The light of Jesus is now ready for us to shine around the world.

Landon:   “I have made you a light for the Gentiles, 
Parker:  that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 13:47)

Brynlee: When Jesus said he was the light of the world, he meant that by believing in his death and resurrection, we would enjoy the light he brings.  

Lydia: Jesus said, “I am the light of the world.  
Calvin:  Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12)

Lennon:  Now we have seen the light that God gave to us.  
Nataly:  It’s a light that shows the way to eternal life. 
Charlie:  We are the keepers of this light and we want to let it shine for everyone to see.

Owen:  “You are the light of the world.  
Avery:  A city on a hill cannot be hidden.  
Jack:  Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl.  
Colton:  Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.  
Cylis:  In the same way, let your light shine!” (Matthew 5:14-16)
