The Week of September 18th

Snack Week:  April’s

Memory:  Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Proverbs 3:5

Monday:  Music.  Letter I Day: ice cream container, ice cube tray, ice skates, icicle, igloo, iguana, Indian, infant, ink, insects, iris, iron, ironing board, island, ivy.  We will learn what to do when our clothes catch on fire.  STOP. DROP, ROLL!

Tuesday:  Gym.  Computers.  Library.   Letter J Day:  lace, ladder, ladle, ladybug, lamb, lamp, lantern, leaf, leash, lemon, letter, lettuce, lid, lime, lion, lizard, lobster, lock, locket, log. The book “School” will come home. We will practice what to do if we are sleeping and a fire alarm goes off.  We will find two different ways out of our classroom. 

Wednesday:  Computers.  Spanish.  HOMEWORK SHEET DUE!  Please return the book “School” and we will read them to the 5^th and 6^th graders. Letter K Day: kaleidoscope, kangaroo, ketchup, kettle, key, kimono, king, kitchen, kite, kitten, kiwi fruit, koala.  We will learn about things we shouldn’t touch at home. 

Thursday: Chapel.  Gym.  Art. Letter L Day lace, ladder, ladle, ladybug, lamb, lamp, lantern, leaf, leash, lemon, letter, lettuce, lid, lime, lion, lizard, lobster, lock, locket, log.  Math test today over placement words.  The book “Go Play” will come home.  We will learn about the clothes that protect the firefighters and some of the equipment they use. 

Friday:  Memory.  Spanish.  Art.  Letter M Day.  macaroni, magazine, magnet, magnifying glass, mailbox, map, maraca, mask, milk carton, mirror, mitten, monkey, monster, moon, mop, motorcycle, mouse, muffin tin, music box. Please return the book “Go Play” and we will read them to the 5^th and 6^th graders.  We will watch a movie about fire safety.

The Week of September 11th

We sing at the 10:30 service on Sunday!  The children will sit with you and pastor will call them up to sing.  The children will get a treat on Monday if they sing!  Then after church there will be a potluck at school with games and a bounce house! 

 

Daily Events

Monday:  Music.  Letter E Day: eagle, earmuffs, earphones, earring, easel, egg, egg beater, elastic, elephant, elevator, elf, engine, envelope, eraser. We will be talking about things that we smell.  We will be smelling some good things and not so good things.   

Tuesday:   Gym. Library. Computers. Letter F Day: fan, farm, feather, felt, fern, fire engine, fish, flag, flamingo, flower, flute, fly, football, fork, frog, fur, fuzz. We will learn about what things we can taste.  We will add them to our book. 

Wednesday:  Computers. Spanish. Test over upper and lower case letters A-F.   We will read “A Farm” book to Mr. Garcia’s class.  We will taste test salty, sweet, sour, and bitter things.

Thursday: Chapel.  Gym.  Art.  Letter G Day:  garden, gate, giraffe, glass, globe, glove, glue, goggles, golf ball, goose, gorilla, gourd, grapes, grass.  Math test over shapes.  We will feel different things in guess bags. 

Friday:  Memory. Art.  Spanish. Letter H Day: hammer, handkerchief, handle, hanger, harmonica, hat, hay, heart, helicopter, hen, hippopotamus, holly, honey, hoop, horn, horse, hot dog, house.  We will read “The Lunch” book to Mr. Garcia’s class.  We will have a test over our senses.

Monday:  NO SCHOOL.  Labor Day. 

Tuesday:   Gym.  Computers. Library.   Letter A Day: ace, acorn, acrobat, airplane, album, alligator, anchor, angel, ant, apple, apron, arrow, astronaut, avocado, ax. We will start our senses book. 

Wednesday:  Computers.  Spanish.  PTO Open House.  Letter B Day:  ball, balloon, banana, bandage, basket, bat, bear, bad, bell, belt, bib, blanket, block, boat, bone, book, boot, bottle, bow, bowl, bracelet, brush, bucket, butterfly.   We will add hearing to our books.

Thursday:   Chapel.   Gym.  Art.  Book orders due today.  Letter C Day:  cake, camera, can, candle, canoe, car, card, carpet square, carrot, chalk, clock, clothespin, clown, coat, comb, cookies, corn, cotton, cowboy hat, crayon, crown.  We will watch the movie: “Magic Schoolbus Inside the Haunted House.”  It is filled with all sorts of sounds!    

Friday:  Memory. Art.  Spanish.   Picture Day!  We will read “Apple Pie” book to Mr. Garcia’s class.  Letter D Day: daisy, dandelion, deer, diaper, dice, dime, dinosaur, dishpan, dog, doll, domino, donkey, door, doughnut, dress, drum, duck, dustpan.  We will add seeing to our book.  We will find things we can only see and then some we can touch and see.
